Welcome There are so many conferences each year it’s very difficult to decide which one to attend. So why come to this conference – what’s special about it ? It’s only for church officers – that doesn’t just mean ministers – but especially deacons, elders and evangelists. It’s an opportunity for those who have responsibility in the church to share together their joys, disappointments and struggles and also their vision in serving the local church. It tackles real issues of church life. Past subjects include · The Local Church – A Training Ground for Service · Overcoming Hindrances to Growth in Small Churches · Deacons- an undervalued ministry · Prayer and the Church Officer Besides quality addresses there’s also plenty of time for discussion and the sharing of news items. And, of course we enjoy fellowship informally over coffee and mealtimes together. This also fosters a greater unity between churches and can be a means to greater effectiveness in the work of the Gospel throughout the North of England. |
